Stocked and maintained by the owner and her wife, The Rose Thorn Tavern has a variety of dishes. While the owner is no master culinarian they will be happy to serve you if no other staff are present.
(If Deirdre is preparing your food or drink, she will sometimes roll a d20 to determine the outcome. This does not apply to unmixed drinks.)As part of your meal service, the owner can provide a tome from her personal collection for you to peruse while you dine. If you fall in love with a particular book she'll be happy to point you to a vendor. While they do not appear on the menu proper, Tea and Coffee are both available, as is any liquor product used to make the cocktails on the menu if you desire it straight or on the rocks. The Rose Thorn Tavern does not engage in game-item trade, nor does it charge for food and drink. Tips are greatly appreciated, and are shared equally among the working staff, but not required to enjoy yourself here.Scroll Down to see the Menu

Ishgardian Red from a local vineyard.
The owner's drink of choice.
La Noscean White straight from Wineport.
Bourbon or Rye with a few dashes of bitters, a spoonful of water and some sugar, garnished with an orange twist. Optionally on the rocks.
A Turali beverage made of fermented maguey. It is smokey with subtle hints of citrus and vanilla.
Tequilla, coconut cream, lime juice, triple-sec, and agave syrup make for a creamy margarita...why Aiyo's bath water might be creamy is perhaps best left a mystery though.
This mocktail is like a sweeter Bloody Marie, made of tomato and pineapple juice, a sprinkling of salt and pepper, and a handful of finely chopped mint all shaken up and served on the rocks. If you want it extra blushing, booze it up with a shot of Mezcal.
South Seas rum is muddled with the hulls of squeezed limes, clove, cinnamon, coconut water and unrefined sugar. Strained over crushed ice and garnished with apple slices for a sweet (and disarmingly boozy) experience.
Ginger ale, fresh lemon juice, sweet cherry syrup, and vodka infused with a traditional Hingan tea blend. Served over ice and garnished with cherry blossoms, this drink embodies the beauty of spring in every sip. Swap out the vodka with tea to get the same sensation without the extra flair.
A selection of custom brewed meads courtesy of Melchius & Melody Holt from the Ruby Rest. Mead can be served Hot or Cold.
Roll a D20 to pick a random drink from the list.
A mocha milkshake made with coffee liquor, chocolate vodka, and vanilla icecream, topped with chocolate infused whipped cream and light roast coffee beans.
A variety of beers sourced from the ports of Limsa Lominsa:
Pale Ale: A light gold, hoppy malt beer.
Red Ale: Sweeter and not as hoppy as the Pale Ale.
Stout: Dark as night, this cousin of ale is creamy and rich in flavour, made with unmalted roast barley.
A milky sweet tea in the hingan style, filled with pearls made of sugar and tapioca starch. As sweet and bubbly as the girl it's named after.
A layered drink made of lemon infused apple cider, with red wine and foaming bitters floating on top, and a single slice of lemon for garnish.
To good memories.
Beef broth, lemon juice, black pepper, Worcestershire, and Tabasco sauce, topped off with a shot of vodka, this cocktail is like drinking a boozey beef soup. Served warm, it's sure to get your blood flowing quick when you come in out of the cold.
Lemonade, blue curacao syrup, and lemon/lime soda make for the perfect beach mocktail. Not that you'll find many beaches in Ishgard.
Substitute the syrup for blue curacao liquor, and add coconut vodka to booze it up.
A tropical blend of coconut rum, watermelon vodka, and your choice of juice, shaken and served on the rocks with a cherry garnish.
- Rolanberry
- Raspberry
- Snurlberry
- Pixieberry
Ruby's Lullaby: The feeling of coming in from the cold distilled into liquid form.
Popped Cherry: Made with cherries and sage, this mead is sweet and just a little savory.

Valentione's Kiss: As sweet and sour as your first awkward kiss, this chocolate and orange flavored mead is sure to please.

Owner and Manager, Dei is a lover of books and of people. Passionate and flirty, she's not afraid to speak her mind or try something new. When serving customers she does her best, but she's no master culinarian and can sometimes mess up an order.
Personal Carrd

A somewhat reserved man, the Hingan mutant found himself wrangled by Aiai, and eventually enticed into employment under Deirdre. The touch-crass, but well-meaning old crocodile happily puts fifteen years of professional culinary experience to work - both for the joy of the customers, and the sake of his fellow employees.

Half Elezen, half Au'ra, and all nightlight, this gentle giant stumbled into a job at the Rose Thorn horns-first due to his close relationships with most of the staff. One of the kindest souls on the star, he adds a timid yet caring touch of culinary experience to the staff lineup.
His duckbill companion Evil Death Skullcrusher, more commonly known as Pablo, has also been adopted as the Rose Thorn's official mascot.

A spunky Lalafell Dei met through her old job, Kahla was one of the first people she thought to bring on staff when she started up the Rose.

Six sees working at Rose Thorn as a learning opportunity - one she takes very seriously. From drink-making and cooking food to socializing with all manner of patrons, she is slowly acclimating to Eorzean social customs, often through red cheeks and stammered words.

Once a seafaring ship captain, forever at home at sea, Aiai comes in to give Dei a hand whenever it's needed. Quick to laugh and quicker to flirt, the feisty bluenette can sling together a cocktail with ease - just don't ask her to make food.

Despite not being able to cook worth a damn, and only slinging drinks as a hobby at best, Dante's close relationship with some of the staff has netted him an unexpected job at the Rose Thorn. He may come off as a bit prickly, but he truly does care for his co-workers and the patronage of the tavern.
Many faces have come and gone behind the bar - here are some of the ones we don't get to see as often these days but still hold a spot in our hearts for.

Though life keeps the enigmatic Fae Dusky away from the Tavern, we still love her and wouldn't be where we are today without her.
Original Entry: One night on a trip to the baths Xilly crossed paths with Deirdre and Aiaiyo. They happened to mention just needing a dedicated bartender and the Duskwight thought "Why Not?" The rest will go down in the anals of history ..... is there a second N?

Resigned to resume being a once in a while patron.
Original Entry: The waitress from another realm, crossed this tavern to visit a friend, and now she's here to make sure every guest feels as welcome as can be.

A simple game, with simple rules: tell a Truth or take a Dare.
- Everyone playing rolls a d20: Highest roller asks lowest roller "Truth or Dare".
- No one can be the asker two rounds in a row. If you get high roll twice, the next highest wins instead.
- You cannot involve yourself in a Dare you give to another player.
- Anyone can refuse an offered Truth question or Dare for any reason. Attempts to get around a player's refusal or any form of coercion will result in a ban from the server and venue.
- Optional Rule: If you refuse the Truth question or dare, instead strip an item of clothing, or take a drink.
In the same vein as Truth or Dare, with an element of deceipt and deduction.
- Everyone rolls a d20, highest roll is the Speaker and must make 3 statements: 2 that are true, and 1 that is a lie.
- Everyone else must guess which statement is the lie.
- Optional Rule: Failure to guess the lie correctly has one of two results: Take a Dare (following Truth or Dare's rules) from the Speaker, or strip an item of clothing or take a drink.
An empty wine bottle is spun to decide who you interact with. There are a few variations:
1) Use to decide Truth or Dare as per it's rules, or Would you Rather.
2) After someone spins the bottle and a second player is chosen, a third player (decided by d20 roll from the remaining players) gives the two a Dare.
3) The spinner must kiss the chosen player in a spot of their choosing. To simulate spinning the bottle, we use /random (number of players). #1 is always the Host, and the rest of the numbers represent everyone in the circle going clockwise from the Host.
A game where the Speaker says something they have truthfully NEVER done, and the other players must confirm if they are guilty or innocent of the act.
- Speaker is decided by d20 roll (highest first then clockwise).
- Optional Rule: If you are guilty of the act, you must choose to strip an item of clothing or take a drink.
Speaker asks the chosen player a "Would you Rather" question.- Speaker decided by d20 roll (highest asks, lowest answers).
- No win/lose condition, just a fun game to get to know each other.
A game where the chosen player must act out a randomly selected word for others to guess.
- First Actor is chosen by d20 roll (Highest acts).
- You must use /em to describe your actions, and refrain from using your given word in the description.
- First player to guess correctly is the new Actor.A wheel featuring the word list for Charades can be found here.
One player is designated the Dealer, and deals out 2 cards to each player. Going in turn order starting clockwise from the Dealer each player must Hit or Stand and attempt to get as close to 21 as possible.- Dealer rolls /random 13.
- 2-10 are Number Cards.
- 11-13 are Face Cards (worth 10).
- 1 is the Ace Card (worth 11 unless that would give you higher than 21, where it is instead worth 1).
